Volleyball Recap: Howell Comes Up Short

Howell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Vianney Golden Griffins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Remy Walkowiak paced Howell's offense, picking up nine kills. Walkowiak got some help from Blake Spiller and his 21 assists.

Howell's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Vianney, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8-1 record this season.

Howell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Eureka on the 3rd. As for Vianney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Lee's Summit North on the 3rd.
