Volleyball Recap: Greendale Takes a Loss

Greendale extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-27. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Racine Case Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Cadence Weidel paced Greendale's offense, picking up eight kills. Weidel really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with ten. Finally, Kayleigh Kowalke kept Greendale's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

As for Racine Case, they moved to 12-25 with that win, which also ended their five-match losing streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 1st.

Racine Case's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elise Webster, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Webster has posted over her last six matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Stacy, who had three digs and two aces.

Greendale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Cudahy on the 14th. As for Racine Case, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Kenosha Bradford on the 14th.
