Volleyball Recap: Phillip Abad and Danial Dehno Secure Win for George Washington

George Washington made up a huge gap compared to their last game against DSST: Cedar, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the George Washington Patriots' way against the DSST: Cedar Falcons on Friday as the George Washington Patriots made off with a 3-0 win. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

George Washington never let DSST: Cedar on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-16.

George Washington was led to victory by Danial Dehno and Phillip Abad. Dehno had four aces and three digs, while Abad had six digs and two aces. Dehno is crushing it when it comes to aces: he's served at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

They weren't the only good server: George Washington was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since the start of last season.

George Washington now has a winning record of 2-1. As for DSST: Cedar, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, George Washington will take on Denver West at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for DSST: Cedar, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against DSST: College View at 6:00 p.m.
