Basketball Recap: KIPP Comes Up Short

KIPP was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the McCluer South-Berkeley Bulldogs. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 41-31.

Dylan Merkle continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for McCluer South-Berkeley, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 12 boards. What's more, Merkle also posted a 92% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Lamar Mccoy was another key player, putting up ten points.

KIPP's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for McCluer South-Berkeley, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-15.

KIPP does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McCluer South-Berkeley, they will welcome Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
