Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Beats Prince of Peace for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Covenant Christian came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Prince of Peace Eagles 12-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 last Tuesday.

Michael Winstead and Matthew Boughton did most of the damage at the plate: Winstead went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI, while Boughton went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave Winstead a new career-high. Stone Kruse was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Covenant Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Covenant Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-6-2. As for Prince of Peace, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8-1.

Covenant Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Prince of Peace, they will welcome Lakehill Prep at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st.
