Benjamin and King's Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Benjamin Buccaneers will be playing at home against the King's Academy Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Benjamin will be strutting in after a victory while King's Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Benjamin took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against American Heritage, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Benjamin sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over American Heritage on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Buccaneers have posted since May 1, 2024.

Thomas Harris looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

At the plate, Benjamin's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Logan Buchanan, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, King's Academy was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They fell 6-1 to Cardinal Newman. The Lions have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Benjamin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. King's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Benjamin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like King's Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .473. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
