Preview: Legacy Christian Academy Knights vs. Urbana Hillclimbers
The Legacy Christian Academy Knights's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Urbana Hillclimbers at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Legacy Christian Academy posted their biggest victory since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They really took it to Middletown Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-26 win on the road. Given Legacy Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Middletown Christian is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Legacy Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Audrey Stanley out in front who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Stanley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Combs, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Urbana had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Shawnee 69-26 on the road.
Legacy Christian Academy's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Urbana, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
Legacy Christian Academy won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in November of 2022, slipping by Urbana 39-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Legacy Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
