Basketball Game Preview: Wood River Wolverines vs. Kimberly Bulldogs

Wood River is 2-8 against Kimberly since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wood River Wolverines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kimberly Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.

Wood River is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They took a 48-33 bruising from Gooding.

Meanwhile, Kimberly had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 66-47 victory over the Senators.

Kimberly found their leader in sophomore Taya Plew, who went 7 of 17 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Plew's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Verwey, who posted 12 points.

Kimberly smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Kimberly has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Wood River, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.
