Football Preview: Quitman Bulldogs vs. Harmony Eagles
Quitman hasn't had much luck against Harmony recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Quitman Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Harmony Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Quitman will be strutting in after a win while Harmony will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Quitman finally turned things around against Eustace on Friday. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 38-16 victory. Quitman's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Klayton Meadows had a dynamite game for Quitman, rushing for 144 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Meadows' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 144 rushing yards dating back to last season. Cade Papez was in the mix as well, providing Quitman with a touchdown.
Quitman's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Davis Watson and Cannin Peppers. Quitman got some further help from Lane Harkins: he forced a fumble, made 12 total tackles, and made 12 total tackles.
Meanwhile, Harmony was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 44-20 to De Kalb. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 24 points.
Quitman's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Harmony, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
