Football Recap: Kelseyville Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Kelseyville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 47-0 loss at the hands of the Orland Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Knights have suffered since September 6, 2024.

Orland's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trent McDonald, who rushed for 134 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Zane Frailey was another key back, rushing for 91 yards and one score on only ten carries.

Orland has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Kelseyville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fort Bragg at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Orland, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Willows at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
