Basketball Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

Eastside suffered their closest loss since February 10, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Honaker Tigers by a score of 33-30. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-40 back in December of 2024.

Honaker's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alayna McNulty led the charge by putting up 16 points and six boards. McNulty's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Carey Keene was another key player, earning five points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.

Eastside dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Honaker, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Eastside has already played their next match, a 65-35 victory against Castlewood on the 24th. As for Honaker, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-23 win against Chilhowie on the 24th.
