Softball Recap: Kenosha Tremper Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Kenosha Tremper had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Greendale Panthers. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 4-0 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Sophia Murphy made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ava DeBartolo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Camille Sporer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Kenosha Tremper pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Greendale, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9.

Looking ahead, Kenosha Tremper will head out to challenge Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Greendale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Berlin Eisenhower at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
