Basketball Game Preview: McQueen Lancers vs. Bishop Manogue Miners

McQueen is 0-10 against Bishop Manogue since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The McQueen Lancers are taking a road trip to challenge the Bishop Manogue Miners at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, McQueen was able to grind out a solid victory over Galena, taking the game 70-57. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Meanwhile, Bishop Manogue beat Douglas 55-44 on Wednesday.

McQueen better focus on containing Liam Sorensen and Eli Benna as the pair were huge in Bishop Manogue's win. Sorensen went 8 of 18 on his way to 20 points, while Benna dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave Benna a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jamahl Jackson, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Bishop Manogue was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas only racked up seven assists.

Bishop Manogue has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for McQueen, their record is now 11-9.

McQueen took a serious blow against Bishop Manogue when the teams last played on January 3rd, falling 68-34. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sorensen, who went 7 for 15 en route to 18 points and seven boards.
