Young Americans Christian skates past Killian Hill Christian with ease

Recap: Young Americans Christian Eagles vs. Killian Hill Christian Cougars

In what's become a running theme this season, the Young Americans Christian Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Killian Hill Christian 95-55 at home. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Young Americans Christian was led to victory by Caleb Blunt and Nick Holloway. Blunt scored 23 points, while Holloway scored 27 points. Blunt continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Christian Gibbs, who scored 11 points.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hawthorne Herring, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Herring is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Emory Berry was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Young Americans Christian and bumps their season record up to 11-12. As for Killian Hill Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Young Americans Christian will square off against Lanier Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Young Americans Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 508 points over their last seven games. Killian Hill Christian will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Bible Baptist Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Bible Baptist Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
