Basketball Recap: Hiram Takes a Loss

Hiram lost against Dalton two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hiram Hornets were dealt a 75-26 defeat at the hands of the Dalton Catamounts. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Catamounts are ranked 57th).

Despite the loss, Hiram still got an impressive performance from Taylor Crawford, who posted 15 points and eight boards. The game was Crawford's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damariah Windmon, who scored six points and three steals.

Hiram's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Dalton, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

Hiram didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-44 defeat against Cass on the 14th. As for Dalton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 54-32 win against Cartersville on the 14th.
