Football Recap: Smithsburg Leopards vs. Catoctin Cougars
Smithsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 43-0 loss at the hands of the Catoctin Cougars. The Leopards lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in October of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 24-18 score last time.
Smithsburg wouldn't let Catoctin keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Smithsburg can thank Chase Hill and Zac Smith for forcing both of them.
Smithsburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Catoctin, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Smithsburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Catoctin, a feisty cat fight will be fought when Cougars faces off against Walkersville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Catoctin is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
