Humboldt had won six straight games and Skylar Hottenstein did her part to make it seven on Monday. The Cubs walked away with a 2-0 win over the Belle Plaine Dragons with plenty of help from Hottenstein, who had 13 digs and four aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Humboldt was: they took both sets by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-10.

Humboldt's victory bumped their record up to 30-9. As for Belle Plaine, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 22 of their last 24 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-30 record this season.
