Softball Game Recap: Western Warriors vs. Moapa Valley Pirates

Western had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-16 to make it 11. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 21-6 to the Moapa Valley Pirates, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 on April 7th.

As for Moapa Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games.

For Moapa Valley's part, Gracy Fullman was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and three runs. Fullman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Alayna Bennett also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Western does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Moapa Valley, they will square off against Pahranagat Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last ten games.
