After a string of 11 wins, Jarrell's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Burnet Bulldogs by a score of 46-43. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Jarrell lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aniya Taylor, who posted 20 points. That was a full 46.5% of Jarrell's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Erica Taylor, who put up 11 points.

Jarrell's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 22-6. As for Burnet, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-14.

Jarrell will take on Marble Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Jarrell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season. As for Burnet, they will square off against Lampasas at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
