Softball Recap: Wilson Central's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wilson Central entered their tilt with South Elgin on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Storm. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly eight runs.

Jordan Hawkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Mallory Lee was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Perry, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Lee wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Wilson Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Wilson Central's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for South Elgin, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Wilson Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-0 victory against Forrest on the 29th. As for South Elgin, they will challenge Conant at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
