Volleyball Game Preview: Encinal Jets vs. Alameda Hornets

The Encinal Jets will face off against the Alameda Hornets at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Encinal came up short against Bishop O'Dowd on Thursday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Jets in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Alameda challenged Berkeley in a bug-themed battle on Thursday. The Hornets fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 3-2. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellowjackets 25-20 in the first set.

Alameda took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-18, 15-11.

Alameda's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Encinal, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Encinal came out on top in a nail-biter against Alameda in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Jets repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
