Basketball Recap: St. Cloud Victorious

St. Cloud was handed a 33-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They slipped by the Mars Fightin' Planets 74-73. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

St. Cloud's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Diomar Ortiz, who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine rebounds. Those 26 points gave Ortiz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Thompson, who shot 57% from the field en route to 20 points.

St. Cloud's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Mars, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

St. Cloud didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-40 victory against Satellite on the 7th. As for Mars, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-39 loss against Moon Area on the 5th.
