Basketball Recap: Crockett Comes Up Short

Crockett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 75-38 loss at the hands of the McCallum Knights. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 922nd, while the Knights are ranked 213th).

Crockett's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for McCallum, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crockett will venture away from home to take on Bastrop at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McCallum, they will head out on the road to face off against Anderson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. McCallum will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
