Basketball Recap: Mikayla Zink Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Idaho City

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Liberty Charter, Victory Charter was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Idaho City Wildcats 41-17. The Vipers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Victory Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mikayla Zink out in front who went 6 for 11 en route to 12 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Leah Ray, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Victory Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Victory Charter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.2 points per game. As for Idaho City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Victory Charter has already played their next game, a 38-27 win against Vision on the 23rd. As for Idaho City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-15 defeat against Compass Charter on the 24th.
