Volleyball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-9, 25-20.

Kendall Krueger paced Springfield's offense, picking up four kills. Krueger got some help from Taylor Roiger and her six assists. Roiger was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Springfield will venture away from home to face off against Lester Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, they will welcome Murray County Central at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
