Volleyball Recap: Rice Takes a Loss

Rice was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Blooming Grove Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Rice was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Blooming Grove work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-15, 25-18.

Rice's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Blooming Grove, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rice is set to take on their familiar foe Scurry-Rosser at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Blooming Grove will face off against rival Palmer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
