Softball Game Preview: Sunny Hills Lancers vs. Villa Park Spartans

The Sunny Hills Lancers will venture away from home to square off against the Villa Park Spartans at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Sunny Hills managed to slip by La Habra the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Sunny Hills lost 12-0 to La Habra on Thursday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Lancers, who until this contest were averaging 3.64 runs allowed.

Sunny Hills saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samaya Holguin, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Villa Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against El Dorado, falling 6-0.

Sunny Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Villa Park, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Sunny Hills couldn't quite get it done against Villa Park when the teams last played back in March of 2023 as they fell 4-0. Can Sunny Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
