Recap: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Niwot Cougars
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverdale Ridge, the Roosevelt Roughriders were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 51-42 win over Niwot. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Roosevelt also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Seppe Salvatore was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Salvatore, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Niwot lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jackson Carano. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elliot Wisecup, who scored eight points.
Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Niwot, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
Roosevelt will take on Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Skyline is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Niwot, they will head out on the road to take on Riverdale Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Riverdale Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 943 points over their last 13 contests.
