Softball Recap: Bloomsburg Wins Going Away Against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech

Bloomsburg's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Rams 31-6. The Panthers have beaten the Rams the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rams has come to flipping the script.

Jenna Lykon was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and five runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (six). Another player making a difference was Reese Klinger, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI.

Bloomsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .744. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .579 that Columbia Montour Vo-Tech posted.

The win got Bloomsburg back to even at 1-1. As for Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomsburg will venture away from home to take on Warrior Run at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give Bloomsburg their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, they will challenge Shenandoah Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
