Recap: Bakersfield Drillers vs. Tehachapi Warriors
The Bakersfield Drillers were the 49-20 winner over the Tehachapi Warriors when they last played one another back in August of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Bakersfield suffered a tough 35-14 defeat at the hands of Tehachapi on Friday. Bakersfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bakersfield's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Iniguez, who threw for 311 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tehachapi to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Root, who threw for 142 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Anderson, who gained 145 total yards and two touchdowns.
Tehachapi's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Leo Gonzalez and his two sacks.
Bakersfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Tehachapi, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Bakersfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tehachapi will head out on the road to face off against Central Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Valley Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
