Basketball Game Preview: Jeff Davis Yellowjackets vs. Brantley County Herons

The Jeff Davis Yellowjackets will square off against the Brantley County Herons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Jeff Davis and three for Brantley County.

Last Saturday, Jeff Davis was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 70-65 to Thomasville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (62), the Yellowjackets still had to take the loss.

Latrell Sellers put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 26 points. Those 26 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of J'Varis Bryant, who earned 15 points.

Meanwhile, Brantley County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 51-45 to Pierce County.

Brantley County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Jeff Davis, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Jeff Davis beat Brantley County 56-48 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jeff Davis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
