Football Recap: North Branch Takes a Loss

North Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. The contest between the Broncos and the Armada Tigers didn't end well, with the Broncos falling 30-14. If the Broncos were looking for revenge after losing 31-21 to the Tigers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, North Branch still got an impressive performance from Micheal Gorman, who rushed for 86 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries.

Jackson Malburg produced another solid effort rushing for 207 yards and four scores while picking up 7.4 yards per carry for Armada. The Tigers are undefeated when Malburg posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

North Branch's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Armada, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. North Branch will challenge rival Almont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Armada is set to face off against their familiar foe Imlay City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
