Basketball Recap: Lakewood Comes Up Short

Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 55-27 defeat at the hands of the Newark Catholic Green Wave. The matchup marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Newark Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakewood will take on Watkins Memorial in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Newark Catholic and Zanesville will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
