Football Recap: Ramapo Falls Short Against Ranked NV - Old Tappan

Ramapo faced NV - Old Tappan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Raiders took a 28-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 27-21 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Ramapo's loss came despite strong showings from Casey Grusser and Liam Hayward. Grusser rushed for 91 yards and one score on only eight carries, while Hayward rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown. Grusser's longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ramapo fell to 2-1. As for NV - Old Tappan, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
