Baseball Recap: Pattonsburg Continues Home Dominance on Monday

While Pattonsburg's win against North Harrison wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Shamrocks 5-4 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Shamrocks: they've now won three in a row.

Camden Mossburg made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Reagan Coin was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Dustin Ward, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Pattonsburg's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.75 runs across that stretch. As for North Harrison, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
