Basketball Game Preview: Hadley Luzerne Eagles vs. Whitehall Railroaders

Hadley Luzerne and Whitehall are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Hadley Luzerne Eagles will challenge the Whitehall Railroaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hadley Luzerne has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 13.

Hadley Luzerne is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Fort Ann on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hadley Luzerne had to suffer through a 79-51 loss at the hands of Fort Ann. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered against the Cardinals since January 20, 2017.

Meanwhile, Whitehall lost 76-56 to North Warren Central on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Railroaders in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Hadley Luzerne's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Whitehall, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Hadley Luzerne came up short against Whitehall in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 69-61. Can Hadley Luzerne avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
