Baseball Recap: Celina Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Celina had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Houston on Monday. The Bulldogs blew past the Wildcats 11-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Houston's batters probably weren't too happy with Chance Miller, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up a single walk). Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nick Steinbrunner was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Celina is undefeated when Steinbrunner posts three or more RBI, but 9-10 otherwise.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Celina lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Celina's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13 runs. As for Houston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-17.

Looking ahead, Celina will be taking part in a tournament against Shawnee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Houston, they will take on Legacy Christian Academy in a tournament on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
