Softball Recap: Hargrave Wins Going Away Against Hardin-Jefferson

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Hargrave brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They blew past the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks 10-2 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kaydence Raimer, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Kaci Gobert also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Raimer wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hargrave kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hargrave's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-8. As for Hardin-Jefferson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Hargrave will welcome Shepherd at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hardin-Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against Livingston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Livingston's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Hardin-Jefferson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
