Baseball Recap: Langtree Charter Academy Comes Up Short

Langtree Charter Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Community School of Davidson on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 8-7. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Tanner Lewis put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Lewis wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Easton Roschke, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Langtree Charter Academy suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 9-2. As for Community School of Davidson, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Langtree Charter Academy and Community School of Davidson should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Langtree Charter Academy will take on Gray Stone Day at 6:00 p.m. on Monday up 239 places (143 vs. 382). Meanwhile, Community School of Davidson (ranked 92nd) will meet East Mecklenburg (ranked 212th) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
