Recap: Governor Livingston Highlanders vs. Dayton Bulldogs
The Governor Livingston Highlanders were the 45-41 winner over the Dayton Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Governor Livingston fell just short of Dayton by a score of 52-49. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Governor Livingston came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Dayton is ranked 353rd).
Dayton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kieran Conway out in front who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Conway has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aden Pecana, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Governor Livingston has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Dayton, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Governor Livingston will challenge Koinonia Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dayton, they will head out on the road to face off against Keyport at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
