Volleyball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian was the 2-1 winner over Blue Hill when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.

Meridian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-16, 25-23.

Jetta Stewart paced Meridian's offense, picking up 13 kills. Stewart got some help from Olivia Schafer and her 16 assists.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Blue Hill, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meridian will face off against Giltner at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Mustangs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Blue Hill, they will take on Grand Island Central Catholic on Tuesday.
