Football Game Preview: Jackson-Olin Mustangs vs. Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils + How To Watch

The Jackson-Olin Mustangs will challenge the Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jackson-Olin beat Minor 46-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Mortimer Jordan won against Minor on October 3rd with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again last Friday. The Blue Devils walked away with a 35-28 victory over Gardendale. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won three in a row.

Mortimer Jordan's win came from a few key players Jackson-Olin will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Parker Reno, who rushed for 125 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Mortimer Jordan is 3-1 when Reno posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tanner Rice, who gained 141 total yards and two touchdowns.

Mortimer Jordan's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Jackson-Olin, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Jackson-Olin suffered a grim 46-20 defeat to Mortimer Jordan in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Mustangs were down 26-6.
