Recap: South Point Pointers vs. Barnesville Shamrocks
The South Point Pointers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Barnesville, falling 56-20. South Point was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-14.
When it comes to explaining why South Point lost, one person who can't be blamed is Elijah Wilburn. Despite the final result, he rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
South Point has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Barnesville, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
South Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Barnesville will be playing at home against Columbus Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbus Academy is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
