Baseball Recap: Murray Wins Going Away Against Fulton County

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Murray brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Everything went their way against the Fulton County Pilots on Monday as they made off with a 15-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Pilots: they've now won six in a row.

Knox Tabers looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits.

At the plate, Cody Garner was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Asa Munsey was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Murray always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Murray's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Fulton County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6-1.

Coming up, Murray will square off against Marshall County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fulton County, they will challenge Christian Fellowship at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.83 runs per game on average), something the Pilots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
