Baseball Game Preview: ALA - Ironwood Warriors vs. Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles

The ALA - Ironwood Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bourgade Catholic took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on ALA - Ironwood, who comes in off a win.

ALA - Ironwood will bounce into Thursday's game after beating San Tan Foothills, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors blew past the Sabercats 16-4 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the contest before.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Garcia, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gio Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

ALA - Ironwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Bourgade Catholic's offense. They lost 11-0 to Northwest Christian on Tuesday.

Bourgade Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ramon Rojas, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

ALA - Ironwood's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-13. As for Bourgade Catholic, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

ALA - Ironwood took their victory against Bourgade Catholic when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 12-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
