Soccer Recap: Richland County Takes a Loss

Richland County was the 2-1 winner over Mt. Vernon when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell 4-2 to the Rams on Saturday.

Richland County's loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1. As for Mt. Vernon, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-10 record.

Looking ahead, Richland County is taking a road trip to square off against Mattoon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Carbondale at 5:30 p.m. Mt. Vernon's defense better be ready for this one: Carbondale have averaged an impressive 2.6 goals per game this season.
