Baseball Recap: South Side Beats Riverview for Their Third Straight Victory

South Side had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the Riverview Raiders as they made off with a 16-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly 14 runs.

Carter Wilson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Tyler STaab was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Rj Fisher was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and four RBI.

South Side always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

South Side's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Riverview, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.

South Side will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
