The Chaminade-Madonna Lions will face off against the Monarch Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Monarch will be up against a hot Chaminade-Madonna squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Lions breezed past Western to the tune of 56-0 on Friday. 56 seems to be a good number for the Lions as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Chaminade-Madonna found their leader in freshman Malik Leonard, who threw for 435 yards and five TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Leonard. Jasen Lopez was Leonard's top target, picking up 118 receiving yards and one score.
Chaminade-Madonna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 213 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 213 rushing yards in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monarch). They claimed a resounding 54-0 victory over Fort Lauderdale. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Flying L's are ranked 403rd).
Chaminade-Madonna better keep an eye on Florentino Lopez. He was instrumental in Monarch's win, throwing for 434 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. With that strong performance, Lopez is now averaging an impressive 310.4 passing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaborree Riggins, who picked up 192 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Monarch's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Dasean Miller was especially locked on to Fort Lauderdale's QB and sacked him twice. Miller has been hot recently, having also posted six or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Monarch got some further help from Jayden Joselin: he made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Monarch, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Wallace McIntosh, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Chaminade-Madonna's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Monarch, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Chaminade-Madonna has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 221.8 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Monarch has preferred to attack from the air: they average 324.6 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Everything came up roses for Chaminade-Madonna against Monarch in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 37-8 victory. In that matchup, the Lions amassed a halftime lead of 23-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
