A Season-Best Performance from Ashton Sumrall Leads Bridge City over Hardin-Jefferson

Bridge City was led to victory by Ashton Sumrall, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Sumrall's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 110 rushing yards. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 53 yards.

Bryce Breeden's big game helped extend Bridge City's winning streak to six on Friday. Nobody could stop Breeden as he picked up two sacks and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss). For the season, Breeden has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 45.2 receiving yards per game.

Bridge City Wins Sixth-Straight Thanks to Hutch Bearden

Bridge City picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Hutch Bearden. Hardin-Jefferson had no answer to Bearden as he rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 128 yards and a touchdown.

On the year, Bearden has thrown 10 touchdowns while averaging 151.8 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after six games last season, he was only averaging 62.62 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 104.48 passer rating.
