Monta Vista has gone a perfect 8-0 against Milpitas recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Matadors are taking a road trip to challenge the Trojans at 6:45 p.m.

On Tuesday, Monta Vista didn't have quite enough to beat Los Gatos and fell 3-2. The Matadors haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Monta Vista took Los Gatos into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-11, 22-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Milpitas hadn't done well against Mountain View recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 3-0 victory.

While Milpitas might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Mountain View scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-20.

Milpitas' win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Monta Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.

Everything went Monta Vista's way against Milpitas in their previous matchup back in September, as Monta Vista made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Matadors since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
